Summer Picnic 2008
:Sometime between June 17 and July 7, 2008 -- Orthello is being produced by Shakespear in the Park (West side of Nelson Atkins Museum.) We are considering taking in this play - entrance is free unless you want to rent a chair. To do our part to support the event, we can just buy our food and beverages from their vendors. Stake out our territory and then sit and gab and tell stories or whatever just like we always do. No mess, no fuss, and they do all the work for us. One early complaint is that it will be hot. Ain't that just like summer? Get over it and join us. This will definitely add some culture to our normal style picnic and the production is first rate. Like a specific date - tell Marilyn so she can try to accommodate you. We're only going once as far as I know.
In August, for those amongst us who like to eat dirt and smell gasoline mixed in with burning rubber - Jeannie Sympson Hall's husband, Grover, is planning on taking us auto racing to watch their nephew(?) Jessie - a professional sprint car driver win big at Lakeside Speedway. More to follow.
