Hi, [FULLNAME]!

Greetings to my favorite people! Hope life is treating you and yours well. And, sure hope you are having difficulty wiping that big wide smile of happiness off your most excellent and pleasing face. So, here is the class news as I best understand it. And, once again thanks to Donna Middleton for editing our quarterly e-mail. And, should your greeting say "Classmate" instead of your name, please go to the website and update your subscription information. www.WilliamChrismanHighSchool.com/classes/1965 Thank you.

1. Official Summer of 08 Class get-together - June 20th, 2008.

Official summer of 08 class get-together -- free Othello, Shakespeare in the Park on Friday June 20th.

For all the information as it becomes available, please visit this site: www.kcshakes.org. As we get closer to the event, there will be maps and driving instructions as well as show times.

Why Othello and why this instead of the usual picnic? First it is new and different for us as a class activity. And, there is no muss and no fuss as all we have to do is show up and sit by each other. And, did I mention that entrance is free?

Free means entrance is free if you bring your own lawn chair and/or blanket. However, we will be asking all to come a little early and buy their food on-site to help support the event and so that we can all enjoy each others company. For those who want formal seating, they offer reserved seats for a small fee. Yes, they also accept donations. No, we will not have a donation hat out for us as we incur no cost as classes. This event goes from June 17 through July 7 -- June 20th is the date selected by the Reunion Planning Committee and approved by Marilyn. My opinion, this is as good as Starlight production wise - with a very heavy touch of culture. Randy Halsey's company supports this event if you want insider info.

3. What Ever Happened To David Poteet? by David Poteet.

I'll keep this brief and will present it in a decade to decade outline.

65-70 (age of innocence) After graduation from Willy Chris I embarked on setting records for how many colleges I could enroll in the shortest amount of time. No college was too small or too large from the University of Missouri to Johnson County Community College. What good times I had dodging the draft and having fun. However, Uncle Sam caught up with me in 68 so instead of being shot at I opted to join the Navy to see the world from the deck of the USS Coral Sea. A CVA attack aircraft carrier bound for the Far East. I found that you can learn a lot in the Navy. From flight operations to the best spots to visit in Japan to Australia and other ports in-between. My Father would have been proud of me...My Mother would have thought otherwise.

71-80 (Disco Dave) Wow! That's about all I can say about the 70's. Who would of guessed that the kid who stood over in the corner of the gym at sock hops would find the disco so appealing. Perhaps many of you did as well. After I returned from the "war" in 1970 I went back to work at the Missouri Pacific Railroad as a yardmaster/switchman for a few years. However, I found the idea of working the 3rd shift (11p to 7a) with Sunday and Monday's as days off, not that appealing. I was ready to do something different on Friday and Saturday nights than stay out of the way of large railroad cars and beaver sized rats in the East Bottoms of Kansas City. It was time to make a change in job professions (insurance sales) so I could be free for the weekends. Yes, while many of you were home nursing the rug rats I was on the prowl in Bibas, Mother's, Flaming Fondue, Frolics, and my personal favorite Georgie Porgies in Gladstone. Those day's probably didn't do much for my life expectancy but they were fun none the less. Heck, I even took time out to get married to a sweet thing from El Dorado, Kans who was a stew for TWA. It ended as quickly as it began and we annulled in less than two years.

81-90 (Settling down) The 80's started out in Oklahoma City being employed by Trend Insurance Company. I was the director of credit life sales for the three years before returning back to Kansas City in 84. I Formed my own agency that same year and worked the new mortgage market. The love bug came calling again in 85 and I married the former Dodge Girl of the Mid-West area Dodge Dealers in 88. She was know as Casey to the media but her real name was Holly. She was a girl from Ohio who initially came to the KC area to be a airline attendant for TWA and ended up in the food service industry working for Kraft. We married in 88 and left the same year for Charlotte, No. Carolina. I had become a Regional Sales Manager for Old American Insurance Company and needed to move into my territory of responsibility which was mostly the Mid Atlantic area from Philadelphia to Jacksonville, Florida. Holly was fortunate to be able to transfer to the Kraft office in Charlotte to continue her career with them. My life was beginning again at age 40. Charlotte was a great place to live and we were fortunate to have the opportunity to meet many new, interesting friends who we still treasure today. Life was good.

90-to now (Life's a Beach) Life was indeed good living on Lake Norman which is just 30 miles North of Charlotte. Picture The Lake of the Ozarks just North of Liberty, Mo. You could build your dream home within 45 feet of the lake. We were right in the middle of nascar country and could watch Dale Earnhart, Rusty Wallace, Ryan Newman, and a number of other drivers fly by our boat dock in shiny, new, high powered bass boats on a warm, summer evening. We had missed Sunday's and the Chiefs but it wasn't long before Charlotte had the Panthers and Sundays became fun again. Holly left Kraft and we opened a restaurant in Davidson, NC. We enjoyed the restaurant but food profit margins were thin and we sold out in 97. All during the 90's Holly and I had made numerous trips to Myrtle Beach enjoying the Atlantic ocean along with the sights and sounds of the area. One Sunday afternoon in 00, when it was time to pack up and start our four hour trek back to Charlotte, we decided that our next move would be to the beach. Then we could wave goodbye to our friends on Sundays instead of driving four hours back to Charlotte. In 01 we did just that. We moved to Pawley's Island which is South of Myrtle and North of Charleston, So. Carolina. Two years ago we built what I hope is our retirement home in this beautiful ocean side community. We extend good wishes to everyone. If you are ever in the neighborhood please give us a call.

We would welcome the opportunity to visit with you. I'll close for now but look forward to seeing you at our next Willy Chris get together.

Okay, Bobby's Myspace Profile URL: www.myspace.com/bobbysimkinseta

5. Marilyn has now retired from school bus driving. March 10, was her last day. Our little party was a lot of fun.

6. Do us a favor - please forward this newsletter to a couple or three of the classmates you still talk to. If they don't have a computer, please print them a copy and share it with them.

7. I hope you enjoy these personal write ups as much as I do. We could sure use some for the July e-mail. Just e-mail me yours. Thanks goes to David Poteet for his contribution to this e-mail.
