This is what I did last year
- Reported in to Robie in the parking lot of the former UMKC building just west and north of the Truman Library (now part of Independence School District.)
- Signed in
- Got my intersection assignment
- Got my t shirt to show I was officially part of the race at my intersection
- Passed on the sweet rolls and coffee
- Went to Hazel's for my takeout breakfast which I took with me to my intersection
- At the prescribed time, I set up the plastic barricades - they are light as Robie mentioned
- Assisted in letting cars pass through the intersection while waiting for race to start
- Let motorcycle police know I was there and ready for the race - they check the entire route before the race begins
- Assisted in letting cars pass through the intersection during the race as long as no participants were at the intersection
- When police came by and released me at the end of the race - stacked the barricades back where I found them
- Drove back to the Library to checkout, but there was no one in parking lot
- Enjoyed the rest of my Saturday
- It was just that easy and I met a few tourists who needed directions. That was fun too.
